ADNOC Distribution hosts International Gas Union (IGU) executive committee meeting, under the patronage of the company’s Chief Executive Officer Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri.

ADNOC Distribution hosts International Gas Union (IGU) executive committee meeting, under the patronage of the company’s Chief Executive Officer Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri. On the sidelines of the meeting, IGU agenda will include a workshop titled ‘Gas and Renewables’ that will be open to all the delegations participating at the executive committee meeting. The two-day event will feature a series of technical meetings in preparation for the upcoming World Gas Conference scheduled in May, in Paris. Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri, CEO of ADNOC Distribution, said: ‘It is a privilege for us to host the executive committee meeting of IGU, which will highlight the global perspective and future directions of the gas industry, in addition to setting the agenda for the upcoming World Gas Conference. “We, at ADNOC Distribution, work under the directives of the wise leadership in the UAE to provide the most advanced services and products to the public and we are committed to playing a pivotal role in supporting this vision. Within our energy offering, we aim to use gas as a clean energy source in the residential and industrial sectors.” In his turn, Jerome Ferrier, President of IGU, said “ We are very pleased to be in Abu Dhabi for the Spring meeting of the IGU Executive Committee, and to organize a specific workshop on ‘Gas and Renewables’ with the presence of IRENA, because gas is the best complement to develop Renewable energy worldwide” Founded in 1931, the International Gas Union promotes the technical and economic progress of the gas industry. There are over 140 members in IGU including associations and entities from 91 different countries, representing over 97% of the global gas market. IGU's working organisation covers all domains of the gas industry - from exploration and production of natural gas on- or offshore to pipeline and piped distribution systems to customers' premises and combustion of the gas at the point of use.
