ADNOC Distribution Unveils ADNOC Xpress Station Concept in Abu Dhabi

Al Maqta and Al Shurooq Stations are First Two in Network of 10 Xpress Stations Planned

Saeed Mubarak Al Rashdi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC Distribution, today launched the new ADNOC Xpress concept of petrol stations in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. Part of ADNOC Distribution’s expanding network, the new Xpress stations are set to service the most congested areas of Abu Dhabi city and its suburbs. The inauguration took place at Al Maqta station, the first in the ADNOC Xpress network. The station is located near the Abu Dhabi Federal Court of First Instance on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street. The event was attended by members of ADNOC Distribution’s senior management and officials from several government entities. During the inauguration ceremony of Al Maqta station, ADNOC Distribution also announced the opening of Al Shurooq station in Abu Dhabi’s Shakhbout City, the second facility in the ADNOC Xpress network. Maximising speed and convenience of service, ADNOC Xpress stations have an oblong ground plan featuring one island with either two or three dispensers that offer only two fuel varieties – Special 95 and E-Plus 91. Stations with two dispensers span an area of ??600 square metres and ??those with three dispensers an area of 800 square metres. ADNOC Distribution carefully selected the sites based on the results of studies that examined the demand for refuelling services in various locations within Abu Dhabi city and its peripheral areas. Commencing in early August 2016, the company completed the design and construction of its first ADNOC Xpress stations in record time in a bid to reduce overcrowding at existing service stations. Saeed Mubarak Al Rashdi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC Distribution, said: “At ADNOC Distribution, we are keen to ease the pressure on our existing service station network and offer motorists more options to refuel their vehicles as part of our efforts to enhance the customer experience. Towards this priority, we launched ADNOC SMART and are opening two new stations under the ADNOC Xpress umbrella - reinforcing our ongoing efforts to provide our customers with high-quality refuelling services in the shortest possible time. We are confident this new concept will appeal to our customers and make the refuelling process easier and more convenient for all.” He added: “With Al Maqta and Al Shurooq stations that opened doors today, we are taking our wide range of high-quality petroleum products and complementary services closer to motorists in Abu Dhabi. The launch of ADNOC Xpress epitomises our organisational and operational values ??of flexibility, innovation, efficiency, and customer service excellence.” Set to commence full operations by Q1 2017, the initial ADNOC Xpress network will comprise eight more stations on Abu Dhabi Island and mainland, including two stations in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, and one station in each of the following locations: Shakhbout City, Khalifa City, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street, King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Street, Delma Street, and Al Falah Street. He added: “ADNOC Distribution is pursuing an ambitious expansion plan and is set to open 25 new service stations and eight ADNOC Xpress stations across the UAE in 2017.” Al Rashdi said: “In our bid to meet the growing demand for our high-quality products and services from our customers across the country, we plan to open more ADNOC Xpress facilities shortly in new locations in Abu Dhabi and nationwide. We are looking at rolling-out these quick-stop services in areas with space constraints that limit the operation of full-fledged service stations. This will enable us to cater to the requirements of our customers in locations that experience rapid population growth and urbanisation.” ADNOC Distribution’s network currently includes two ADNOC Xpress stations and 336 service stations in different parts of the UAE, including 92 stations in Abu Dhabi and its suburban areas, 34 stations in the Western Region, 41 stations in Al Ain, 87 stations in Sharjah, 34 stations in Ras Al Khaimah, 14 stations in Umm Al Quwain, 21 stations in Fujairah, and 13 stations in Ajman.
